PUSH BACK PALLET RACKING
Push Back Racking is a high-density storage system that allows up to six pallets to be stored deep per level.
Push Back Racking is ideal for warehouses needing a space-efficient solution for fast-moving goods. However, it’s important to note that this system operates on a Last-In, First-Out (LIFO) basis, making it most suitable for products that do not require strict FIFO inventory rotation.

Faster picking and replenishment than Drive-In Racking
-
Maximises floor space and pallet positions

Ideal for bulk storage of uniform SKUs
1. High Storage Density
Stores multiple pallets deep (typically up to 6), maximising floor space and reducing the number of aisles needed.
2. Faster Loading & Unloading
Pallets are loaded and retrieved from the front of the rack, reducing forklift travel time and increasing throughput.
3. No Drive-In Required
Unlike Drive-In racking, forklifts don’t need to enter the structure—improving safety and speeding up operations.
4. Improved Selectivity
Although it’s a LIFO system, push back offers better selectivity than Drive-In racking, with access to multiple SKUs on different levels.
5. Ideal for Cold Storage
Maximises cubic space in expensive temperature-controlled environments by minimising aisle requirements.
6. Low Maintenance
Fewer moving parts and robust construction result in long-lasting, low-maintenance operation.
7. Safer Operation
Front loading and unloading reduces forklift damage and the risk of accidents inside the racking structure.
8. Versatile and Scalable
Can be tailored to suit a wide range of pallet sizes, weights, and warehouse layouts.
9. Suitable for High-Throughput Environments
Great for businesses needing fast, efficient replenishment and retrieval of palletised goods.
1. High-Density Storage
Ideal for warehouses that need to maximise pallet storage in limited floor space.
2. Bulk Storage of Uniform Products
Perfect for storing large quantities of the same SKU, especially where full pallet loads are common.
3. Fast-Moving Inventory
Well-suited for items that are picked and replenished frequently, as access is from the front face only.
4. Cold Storage & Freezers
Push back racking works well in temperature-controlled environments, where space efficiency is critical and forklift manoeuvring should be minimised.
5. Staging Areas for Shipping or Production
Can be used near dispatch or production lines to stage pallets that are waiting to be used or shipped.
6. Retail Distribution Centres
Commonly used in food, beverage, and FMCG supply chains where product rotation is less critical.
7. Warehouses with Limited Aisle Space
Reduces the number of aisles required, increasing storage density without sacrificing accessibility.
